More Info
According to the Dhuḏi-Djapu' leader Binygurr Wirrpanda, this painting depicts a Gupa-Djapu' place called Balana, where the Djan'kawu Sisters traveled before heading west to Dhurruputjpi. At Balana they placed their digging sticks into the ground, creating freshwater sites. According to Biny'gurr, Balana has strong connections to both the Dhuḏi-Djapu' and Marrakulu clans, who both sing this Country.
